Silica sand production process and application

2021-10-05

Quartz sand is a quartz particle produced by crushing quartz stone. Quartz stone is a non-metallic mineral, a hard, wear-resistant, and chemically stable silicate mineral.

Silica sand production process
Quartz sandstone blocks (raw materials) are transported by loader shovel to the bulk bin, shaken down to the belt conveyor, and sent to the cone crusher (jaw crusher) for crushing, and the crushed ore is then sent to the small pieces by the belt conveyor Silo: the material in the small silo is fed to the belt conveyor by the vibrating feeder, and sent to the linear vibrating screen for screening. The ore on the screen enters the wet rod mill for crushing and then flows into the mortar pool by the slurry pump It is pumped to a linear sieve and then sieved; the products under the sieve are transported to the sand washing machine by the slurry pump, and the quartz sand enters the settler for classification after desilting of the sand washing machine. After the classification, the products are pumped to the dehydration warehouse by the slurry pump, and after the dehydration is qualified, they are picked up by the drive to the belt conveyor and sent to the finished product warehouse; the muddy water from the sand washing machine enters the thick pool, the tailings sedimentation is pumped to the ceramic filter, and the tailings are vacuumed And the water is separated, the water is recycled, the tailings fall into the tailings pond, and the loader is shoveled for sale.

Silica Sand Application
1. Glass: The main raw materials of flat glass, float glass, glass products (glass jars, glass bottles, glass tubes, etc.), optical glass, glass fiber, glass instruments, conductive glass, glass cloth and special radiation-proof glass.

2. Ceramics and refractory materials: raw materials for porcelain blanks and glazes, high-silicon bricks for kilns, ordinary silicon bricks and silicon carbide.

3. Metallurgy: raw materials or additives and fluxes for silicon metal, ferrosilicon alloy and silicon aluminum alloy.

4. Construction: concrete, cementitious materials, road construction materials, artificial marble, cement physical performance inspection materials (ie cement standard sand), etc.

5. Chemical industry: raw materials for silicon compounds and water glass, fillers for sulfuric acid towers, and amorphous silica powder.
